Having a bad day? Go buy fabric.

So I'm sure you have all been there. Having a bad day? Go to favorite quilt shop and do just that ....SHOP!! Singing the whole time in your head, ladeedadeedaday my what a wonderful day!!! My day just got better knowing I am buying supreme fabric that will turn into the quilt of my dreams.

I get home with said wonderful fabrics, lovingly sort, caress, fold and yes put in a drawer for the day I have time to put it all together. I'm so happy now that that little fact doesn't matter, so what if I can't get to it today, I'm happy just knowing that beautiful, perfect, scrumptous fabric is there.

In my dreams that night I will have peaceful dreams of that fabric, how I will prewash, startch, cut and piece it into the quilt that everyone will say, "Oh MY, did you make that? It is soooooooo wonderful, beautiful, PERFECT!!!" There will be no frogging, no miss matched corners or eaten points on my stars the perfect quilt in my perfect dream. Then the days turn to weeks and weeks to months and yes, even months to years.
Then one day I am cleaning out my studio, I open a drawer and while pawing through the fabrics there I come across the most goshaweful combination of fabrics I have ever seen in my life. How did that get there? I don't own ugly fabric!! Where did that come from?!! I don't remember going to the Salvation Army and picking up anything that bad to put in a charity quilt. Did Great Grandma slip that in there when I wasn't looking, I would ne.....v....er.......hummmmmmmmm.....................I wouldn't have, would I?

Oh Good Gosh, no, no it can't be my beautiful, perfect, scrumptous bad day fabric, I did, I did buy that aweful fabric. Yes Ladies and Gents, we have all been there. That beautiful fabric that just made my day somehow rippen and fermented into something so aweful I can't stand to look at it. Interesting how some mornings I wake up only to feel the same way about the person sleeping next to me. Unfortunately he can't be turned into something for charity.
